The Krispy Kreme Challenge was started by NC State students with a passion for running and for doughnuts. The race puts your stomach, not just your legs, to the test. As they say, it is a “unique challenge of both athletic and gastrointestinal skill.”
The Krispy Kreme Challenge requires participants to run 2.5 miles, starting at the Memorial Belltower on the NC State campus, at 2011 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, to the Krispy Kreme at the intersection of Peace and Person Streets.
They must eat a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme and then somehow run back to the Memorial Belltower.
Participants must complete the race in under an hour to be eligible for winning.
The annual race is an important fundraiser for UNC Children’s Hospital. Please consider donating!
The Krispy Kreme Challenge takes place February 5th, 2022, at 12 p.m.
Register for the Krispy Kreme Challenge.
There are three categories
Challenger: You will be eligible to claim victory. You must consume all 12 doughnuts.
Casual: You’ll get the doughnuts but don’t have to consume them all. You aren’t eligible to win.
No Doughnut: You want to run, but don’t want to eat doughnuts.
Registration cost is $50 for any category.
There will be two training events, where you can pick up a free doughnut at Talley Student Union. They take place January 14th and January 21st, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
