South Wake Conservationists’ Kids in Nature Day takes place Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner, North Carolina.
The rain date is October 11.
This is a free event. Donations are welcome, though!
Please pre-register. It’s very helpful for planning.
Fall is a great time for outdoor events, and this event is free. All kids and families are welcome. Meet a variety of live animal exhibits, including the very popular birds-of-prey, reptiles, amphibians, cool “bugs,” aquatic life, and more.
Explore over twenty different interactive and fun nature-oriented activity stations.
A whimsical musician will be onsite again for interactive musical fun, and Ranger Rick will be all around the event greeting the kids and posing for photos.
Ice cream and other treats will be available for purchase.
Walk down the paths along the field, through the woods, and down by the lake to discover the many different activities with plenty of space to not feel crowded. Earn cool prizes by getting your activity cards stamped. And have fun!
