The Town of Morrisville, North Carolina, is holding a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Cedar Fork Community Center, 1050 Town Hall Dr # B, Morrisville, NC.

This free family-friendly event will celebrate Juneteenth and recognize the achievements of the African American community in Morrisville and beyond.
Juneteenth is a celebration that commemorates the end of the enslavement of African-American people in the United States.
It marks the day, June 19th, 1865, when the Emancipation Proclamation (which had been issued on January 1st, 1863) was finally read to enslaved African–Americans in Texas.
It took more than two years for word of freedom to get to enslaved people, and freedom is still a process. Some of the Juneteenth events are calls to action, and all encourage community involvement.
The event will include:
- U.S. Colored Troops Reenactment
- Health and Wellness Workshops
- Interactive Experiences
- Live Entertainment
- Kids’ Corner
- Food Trucks
- Vendors
- Giveaways
There will also be a Juneteenth Walking Tour. Participants can take a shuttle to the Shiloh Community anytime during the event, from 12-2:15 p.m. The shuttle will be available round trip.
More than 40 vendors will be on site, including local artisans and business owners, Black-owned farmers, non-profit organizations, and groups representing health and wellness interests.

- Yagg Sii Tenn
- Pull-Ups Mobile Eatery
- The Tasty Turkey Que
