Town of Chapel Hill
January 16th, 2023:
- Residential Trash: No trash collection Monday, Jan. 16 (make-up day Wednesday, Jan. 18).
- Yard Waste collection will not be affected.
- Curbside Recycling will not be collected on Jan. 16. Recycling collections will be delayed by one day the entire week of Jan. 15–21.
- Orange County Landfill and Waste & Recycling Centers will be closed Monday, Jan. 16.
- Commercial Trash will not be collected Monday, Jan. 16. Collections will be completed by the end of the week.
- Public Housing: Office and Maintenance Division will be closed. For emergency maintenance services, call (919) 968-2855.
- Chapel Hill Library will be closed.
- Chapel Hill Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule (no U or NU routes). EZ Rider will operate from 8:15 a.m. to 6:52 p.m.
- Parks and Recreation: Parks, greenways, trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and outdoor park amenities are open.
- Closed Monday, Jan. 16: Administrative offices, Chapel Hill Community Center Pool, Hargraves Center, and The Teen Center.
- Open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.: Homestead Aquatic Center, Chapel Hill Community Center, and Northside Gym.

Stores and malls are generally open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with no change in hours. All of the following should be open as usual.
