- The flag features horizontal bands of blue and red, adorned by a white rectangular with the coat of arms of Haiti.
- The coat of arms shows weapons on a green hill, with a royal palm symbolizing independence.
- Haiti’s motto is “L’Union fait la Force — with Unity there is Strength” is on the coat of arms.
- Haiti created the first independent nation in the Caribbean, born from a slave revolt in 1791.
Haitian Flag Day Family Fun Day
Haitian Flag Day Celebration — Family Fun Day is taking place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Harold D. Ritter Park, 301 West Lochmere Drive, Cary, NC.

Tickets are $15 for ages 6+ and free for children 5 and under.
