Magnetic Navigation in Sea Turtles

We will have an interactive booth to learn about how sea turtles and other animals can use the earth’s magnetic field to navigate over long distances. We will also have activities to learn more about general sea turtle behavior, biology, and conservation.

We are Virginia’s state repository for natural history collections, and the Herpetology Lab will be bringing a variety of herpetological items, like 3D printed reptile and amphibian skulls, fossil crocodile teeth, and more, as well as a few interactive educational activities.
