6th Annual Day of the Dead Celebration

Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum along with the Artist Studio Project are proud to present the Sixth Annual Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
This free family-friendly event will feature:
The Annual Day of the Dead Altar;
Live music and dancing by local children;
Samples of Day of the Dead bread; and,
And traditional hot chocolate.
This year the Day of The Dead Altar, created by Visual Artist Lety Alvarez along with children from local schools, is dedicated to Children and the Caribbean.

“From the Ashes” Mural by Taylor White

Internationally renowned Raleigh-based artist Taylor White has painted a 664-square-foot mural called “From the Ashes” on The Willard Rooftop. The mural was inspired by the work of plant collector William Willard Ashe, a botanist who was born in an antebellum home behind our hotel and whose family name graces a nearby cross street and inspired the name of our rooftop lounge.
