Silver Screen & Starry Skies: Apollo 13 is a free event at West Point Environmental Education Pavilion, 5235 N Roxboro Road, Durham, North Carolina, on April 24, 2026, from 8 to 11 p.m.
Although it’s free, registration is required.
Bring your blankets, chairs, and friends as we gather under the night sky to watch the film Apollo 13 (1995). This film dramatizes the true story of the 1970 lunar mission and the crew’s story of resilience, teamwork, and survival.
Late April will be a great time to gaze at the moon with your own eyes, or with one of the telescopes.
The film screening starts after the sun goes down at 9:00, but join us at 8:00 for fun activities from community partners.
This program is a NC Star Party Program and part of the NC Science Festival.
Please note, this program is weather dependent. The rain date is April 25, 2026.
