The Greek Festival is a free event taking place Saturday, May 5th, 2018, and Sunday, May 6th, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days, rain or shine. It’s at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 8306 NC Hwy 751, Durham, 1/2 mile south of I-40 Exit 274, near the Streets at Southpoint Mall.
It’s free, but bring money for shopping at the Greek marketplace and for purchasing delicious food. Festival proceeds benefit the Saint Barbara Church Building Fund and the Durham Rescue Mission.
There will be continuous traditional and popular Greek music and folk dance performances by adult and youth dance troupes in authentic costumes. The band “Opa” will entertain you with live bouzouki music. All are welcome to join in community dancing.
Greek cultural exhibits, travel videos, and tours of our landmark Byzantine-style domed church will be featured both Saturday and Sunday.
