Mardi Gras Jazz Jam

Wilson Jazz Festival presents Root Down Collective, who will be leading a jazz jam from 3-6 pm at Downtown Public House.
Root Down Collective is a Raleigh based jazz group founded on fun and engaging music from every era of the jazz tradition. The band is led by saxophonist Garret Hitmar who takes inspiration from greats such as Dexter Gordon and Stanley Turrentine. The rhythmic foundation of the band consists of Silas Seigler on drums, Chris Mills on bass, and Brandon Shamar on piano.
This is an open event for musicians! Drums and keys will be provided but bring your own instrument if it’s something other than that. All are encouraged to join in on the jam!
There will also be FREE world-famous gumbo, king cake, beads, and door prizes!
Costumes encouraged!
