To Take Shape and Meaning is an exhibit at North Carolina Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, North Carolina, that brings together a wide range of indigenous art and culture through 3-D works.
It’s on exhibit through January 28, 2024. It’s a ticketed exhibit. Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors age 65+, and free for youth 18 and under, as well as college students. Free for museum members.
There is one remaining chance to see the exhibit for free, however.
The last free Community Day of the season takes place Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can get up close with the works of art, and can also create their own art inspired by the work of Rose B. Simpson, with a special hands-on project.
During this day, you visitors can also enjoy storytelling and a gallery walk with Ryan Dial, a citizen of the Lumbee tribe who uses a variety of skills to educate about North Carolina’s indigenous peoples. This activity is also free and takes place on July 21, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. Register for the storytelling and gallery walk.
