Communities in Schools of Durham is offering a FREE summer learning program for elementary school students in grades K-5 who live in Durham.
The goal of the program is to help combat the learning loss many students experienced this last year due to the pandemic.
The program will take place from July 6th to August 12th, 2021, on Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
It will take place at Merrick-Moore Elementary School, 2325 Cheek Road, Durham, but students do not have to attend Merrick-Moore. They just have be residents of Durham.
Free transportation is available, and the program includes free breakfast and lunch.
The program will offer academic enrichment, including:
- Math and science games
- Reading projects
- Arts and crafts
- Outdoor activities
- Field trips
