First Friday at CoLab: Theme Roulette

Every month CoLab has a new theme for their gallery shows. They are meant to inspire and not restrict, and it’s always fun to see how people interpret them. For their August show they tried an experiment: anyone who wanted to participate entered a theme idea which was randomly distributed to another artist. The artists had a month to finish a piece based on their new random theme.
The work is now finished and it’s time to celebrate! Join CoLab on Friday, August 1st, as they reveal the results of the amazing artistic experiment we called “Theme Roulette”.
And on First Friday, you can join in the fun with a new twist on a collaborative painting. Pick an artist-submitted theme and paint! There’s also the amazing Five Dollar Sketch Wall- a novel way to build your art collection (even if you’re broke) and help support CoLab at the same time, thanks to generous donations from our artists!
The Carter Building will be hopping Friday! While you’re here, visit CoLab’s awesome neighbors throughout the building!
