First Friday at CoLab: Words

Visual art is ultimately about communication, so it’s no surprise that text has been incorporated into it throughout the ages. Sometimes using words, with their own power and nuance, is the best way to get your message across. For the month of November the CoLab is exploring art that is enhanced by script, or text that’s enhanced by visual art, in a gallery show we’re calling “Words”.
And on First Friday, you can join in the fun with a new twist on a collaborative painting. Pick an artist-submitted theme and paint! There’s also the amazing Five Dollar Sketch Wall- a novel way to build your art collection (even if you’re broke) and help support CoLab at the same time, thanks to generous donations from our artists!
The Carter Building will be hopping Friday! While you’re here, visit CoLab’s awesome neighbors throughout the building!
