Interested in choosing your own Christmas tree near Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding areas? The holiday season is almost here, which for many means that it will soon be time to find the perfect Christmas tree.
Below, you’ll find a list of Christmas tree farms and lots, organized by county, where you can find a tree to take home. In some cases you can “choose and cut” a tree, and in other cases, the trees were grown in the mountains and are already cut.
At some of the farms, there are additional activities, like hayrides, hot cocoa, and visits with Santa.
Many Christmas tree farms and lots open the day after Thanksgiving, but it does vary, and we’ve listed the opening date for each. Some are open already.

This article was super helpful. Thank you! Just a heads up that the address listed in the article for Green Acres Farm is an old address. They aren’t at 1132 anymore. That’s now a neighborhood. They are at 1600. I had given up and was heading to Phillips Farm when I happened to spot it at the last minute. I’m glad I did as they were so helpful and we got a beautiful tree.
