Enjoy an evening filled with inspiration, history, and celebration to find out. Whether you’re a longtime visitor or stepping into the park for the first time, you’ll have the chance to hear powerful stories from community members, explore pop-up exhibits showcasing decades of Chavis history, and take part in a guided walking tour that brings the park’s past to life.

Juneteenth: Day Party at John Chavis Memorial Park

This free, family-friendly event will feature music in the park, setting the tone for a vibrant and joyful gathering. Guests can enjoy a variety of delicious options from local food trucks, participate in classic yard games, such as cornhole, and visit the Red Cross blood drive to help save lives through donation. Children will also have the chance to express their creativity by decorating the plaza with sidewalk chalk. Come together with neighbors and friends to celebrate Juneteenth in a lively, welcoming atmosphere as we warm up for the main event happening from 5:00-9:00 pm.
