Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation is presenting a Community Book Bag Giveaway for local students.
Check out a big list of back to school bashes in the Triangle.
It takes place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Hargraves Community Center, 216 Roberson Street, Chapel Hill.
In addition to the annual bookbag give away there will be food, free haircuts and braids, activities, live entertainment and more! Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a day of music, food, and a variety of activities for youth and adults.
Thank you to supporters, Aetna and CVS Health, Summit Church of Chapel Hill, Alston-Bolden Family & Friends Club, The Community Church Chapel Hill Unitarian, Bounce with P inflatables, Friends of Hargraves Center, and Coastal Federal Credit Union.
Families are asked to not begin lining up until 9:30 a.m. Bookbag distribution will begin at 10 a.m. Lunch 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Children must be present to receive a book bag. Call 919-969-2057 for additional information
