Blue Star Museums is a program that provides free admission to over 2,000 museums nationwide to active duty military personnel and their families. The program includes National Guard and Reserve.
The program began on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2024, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024.
Check out a big list of museums in the Triangle that are free to visit or that have free days.
The military ID holder can bring five family members with him or her, and those family members can include a spouse or child, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.
If the military member is deployed a dependent member of the family can still participate in the free program. Read the FAQ for more details, including the documentation you’ll need to bring.
There is NO limit to the number of Blue Star Museums you can visit this summer, or how many times.
