Blue Jay Point County Park, 3200 Pleasant Union Church Road, Raleigh, is a 236-acre park that features the Blue Jay Center for Environmental Education, gardens and a study pond, an overnight lodge, hiking and walking trails, a picnic area, the Go Ape Treetop Adventure Courses, playgrounds, open play fields, fishing areas and geocaching.
On Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, Blue Jay Point County Park is hosting a Songbird Celebration Mini-Event.
This year they are observing the World Migratory Bird Day theme, “Dim the Lights for Birds at Night,” spotlighting the impacts of light pollution on migratory birds and providing ways that people can reduce light pollution at home, in their neighborhoods and in their communities.
Enjoy bird-related activities, crafts and games at the park. This is a great, all-outdoor outing for individuals, families, scouts and other youth groups. This is a free, family-friendly event for a fun day. Space is limited, so register in advance.
There are three sessions:
- 10 to 11 a.m.
- 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Also, there will be a staff-led Bird Walk starting at 2 p.m. No registration required for the bird walk.
