Block Gallery, on the first and second floors of the Raleigh Municipal Building at 222 W. Hargett Street, Raleigh, offers five to six exhibitions each year. The exhibitions feature work by artists who live or work in Chatham Durham, Johnston, Orange, or Wake County.
Block Gallery is free to visit. It’s open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
MAKE // TAKE is an exhibition of photographic works by North Carolina-based image makers, curated by gallerist and photographer Lindsay Metivier of Peel Gallery + Photo Lab. The exhibition title evokes the conversation about whether or not photographs are made or taken. The featured photographers, Jimmy Fountain, Gadisse Lee, Lee Nisbet, and Cornell Watson, each approach the creation of their photographic images in unique ways.
The exhibition will be on display from October 5th, 2022, to January 20th, 2023.
There will be an artist reception on Friday, October 7th, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s free and open to the public.
