The Town of Garner is offering First Friday Bird Walks. They generally take place on the first Friday of each month, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., alternating between Lake Benson Park and the White Deer Park Classroom in Garner.
The bird walks are currently scheduled through August, 2026, except in July, when the bird walk takes place the second Friday, due to the Independence Day holiday.
Enjoy an easy walk while looking and listening for birds. Learn how to identify birds in the area and discover their behaviors and preferred habitats. These walks are great for first-time or experienced birdwatchers. Age 16+
The bird walks are free to attend, but registration is required. Ages 16+.
