
Bennett Place State Historic Site, 4409 Bennett Memorial Road, Durham, North Carolina, is presenting Bennett Place School Day on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Bennett Place hosts several historic sites and museums for a history-packed School Day program. This program is geared toward students ages 5-18, with an emphasis on homeschool kids. The program is especially recommended for students in grades 3-8.
The cost is $2 per student. There’s no charge for adults or chaperones. Purchase tickets here.
All groups must include at least one adult who will remain with their student(s) at all times. Groups with 7+ children should have multiple adults.
Note: You do not need to have a group to attend the program. Please just provide the adult’s name as the “group leader” for you and your child(ren).
Bennett Place is the site of the largest surrender of the South in the American Civil War.
Students will rotate through several hands-on stations focusing not just on the Civil War, but many aspects of North Carolina’s long, rich history.
