The artist AhDeam Smith is presenting an immersive art event, Make It Make Sense, at 108 E. Franklin Street (the renovated Walgreens space), in downtown Chapel Hill. It was commissioned by Arts Everywhere, Orange County Arts Commission, and the North Carolina Arts Council.
This is a free event.
This multi-sensory installation will take place in person:
- Friday, October 8th, 2021, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday, October 9th, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, October 10th, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
It will also be available online from October 11th to 15th, 2021.
Inspired by personal experiences surrounding love & loss during the Covid-19 pandemic, Make It Make Sense, invites visitors to reflect on their own personal experiences while watching a taped performance piece. After the piece is concluded, visitors will have an opportunity to stimulate their taste and touch senses with complimentary items provided and write a note to someone they haven’t been able to connect with over the last 19 months.
