The Town of Apex is hosting the Apex Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at The Depot, 220 N. Salem Street, Apex.

The event will celebrate this important day in African American history, and will promote equity, respect, and understanding between people of all backgrounds and cultures.
There will be live performances, Chalk the Walk, food trucks, a history exhibit in the Depot, a digital media and art installation, Juneteenth stories and local vendors.
Apex Juneteenth Schedule
- 11:00 am: Event kickoff with Big Ron and flag raising with Apex Police Department Chief Armstrong
- 11:00 am: Opening remarks from Mayor Gilbert, Town Council, and Juneteenth Committee
- 11:30 am: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
- 11:45 am: Caliente Babe line dancing
- 12:15 pm: Presentation of the Apex Freedom Day Honoree
- 12:30 pm: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
- 1:00 pm: Pierce Freelon children’s musical performance
- 2:30 pm: Empowering Steppers performance
- 2:30 pm: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
- 3:00 pm: Apex First Baptist Youth Choir performance
- 4:00pm: NiiTO Band performance
