Apex Juneteenth Celebration June 15 - Triangle on the Cheap

The Town of Apex is hosting the Apex Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at The Depot, 220 N. Salem Street, Apex.

The event will celebrate this important day in African American history, and will promote equity, respect, and understanding between people of all backgrounds and cultures.

There will be live performances, Chalk the Walk, food trucks, a history exhibit in the Depot, a digital media and art installation, Juneteenth stories and local vendors.

11:00 am: Event kickoff with Big Ron and flag raising with Apex Police Department Chief Armstrong
11:00 am: Opening remarks from Mayor Gilbert, Town Council, and Juneteenth Committee
11:30 am: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
11:45 am: Caliente Babe line dancing
12:15 pm: Presentation of the Apex Freedom Day Honoree
12:30 pm: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
1:00 pm: Pierce Freelon children’s musical performance
2:30 pm: Empowering Steppers performance
2:30 pm: Juneteenth stories @ the Halle Cultural Arts Center
3:00 pm: Apex First Baptist Youth Choir performance
4:00pm: NiiTO Band performance
