More info:
Girls in 4th to 6th grade are invited to join Young Women In Bio-RTP for a visit to the JC Raulston Arboretum at NC State University on October 12.
During this event, the girls will have the opportunity to tour the gardens and participate in a hands-on activity to learn about plants and horticulture. The girls will learn why plants vary across different ecosystems as well as how plants rely on other organisms to survive.
The arboretum is a teaching and research facility with more than 9,000 specimens across more than 6,000 species.
Due to the size of the garden, the event capacity is limited so please register in advance. Also, please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and closed-toed shoes as this event will take place outside and will involve walking.
Parents are welcome to accompany students on the tour. Please note that parents are not required to process registration for themselves, only for the students attending.
