
Dorothea Dix Park is offering a FREE Guided Trolley Tour on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 12 to 2 p.m. Although it’s free, space is limited and registration is required. Registration opens on May 9 at 12 p.m.
This is an accessible trolley tour focusing on the past, present and future of Dix Park.
It leaves from the Stone Houses Visitor Center 830 Umstead Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina.
This 2.5 mile trolley tour will cover the history of the buildings, land and legacy of Dorothea Dix, and the next steps the City is taking to plan the future of the park.
The trolley is accessible with lift access. You will be invited to exit the trolley at times which may take place in grass and on uneven surfaces. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. No food or drink may be consumed while riding the trolley.
