
Join WUNC’s narrative journalism show “The Broadside” for a special live storytelling event exploring the unsung history and present-day experiences of Asian Americans in North Carolina.
The Broadside Present: An Evening of Asian American Storytelling on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m., at The Cary Theater, 122 E Chatham Street, Cary, North Carolina. Tickets are $7.51.
Hosted by Anisa Khalifa, this 90-minute seated program blends reported journalism, live narration, and performance art to bring powerful local stories to life. The evening will feature two reported storytelling segments and a live performance piece spanning North Carolina’s Asian American history from the early 20th century to today.
The program also includes an interactive audience component, inviting reflection and shared community storytelling.
