
New Hope Valley Railway, 3900 Bonsal Road, New Hill, North Carolina, is presenting Steam Shop Saturday on July 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Ever wondered what it takes to run a steam locomotive? Come to Steam Shop Saturday and spend some time in the railyard with the Steam Crew. They’ll share fascinating stories, demonstrate their work, and answer all your questions about operating a steam engine.
With train rides at 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., you’ll have two chances to meet the crew and experience the magic of the rails.

- Ages 13-59: $16.45
- Ages 2-12: $13.20
- Ages 60+: $15.37

All ticket sales support the restoration of #17, helping bring this historic steam locomotive back to life. Don’t miss this rare behind-the-scenes look at the world of steam railroading!
Note: #17 is still under restoration, so rides will be pulled by one of our diesel engines.
