Special Treats is a boutique chocolate shop at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road, in Chapel Hill. It specializes in chocolates made by people with disabilities.
Special Treats is a job training site for Special Ed students from Chapel Hill. It’s been voted the “most loved candy shop” in Chapel Hill and Durham on Hulafrog.
They host live music and other events. Enjoy some music while enjoying chocolate, wine and beer and a juice bar.

Come in and have a beer or a glass of wine and watch top local musical talent compete for the title of Best Songwriter in the Triangle. Winner will be chosen by a vote of the audience. No cover charge, open to all ages. We did the first one of these back in November and it was great fun, with impressive songwriters from throughout the Triangle and beyond. Register right before the event, at Special Treats in the Timberlyne Shopping Center, Chapel Hill. A sound system and keyboard will be provided. Winner will receive a trophy and will appear on WCOM’s Licks & Lyrics radio show.

WCOM FM in Carrboro has been producing quality community radio for 15 years. One of the great shows is called “Licks & Lyrics”. Over the years, many local musicians have been DJ’s on the show. At this concert, all 4 current Licks & Lyrics DJ’s will each play a set. Donations for WCOM will be collected at the show. The performers will be: Dan Friedman (with Jamie Gartman), Mark Knox, Michael Daughtry, and Carol Parker Schafer (with Susan Colwell and Tracy Parker).
