The Triangle Talk Show: Covers local, regional and statewide issues. They’ve produced over 120 episodes in 2.5 years. You can also watch (not just listen) to them on the TriangleTalkShow YouTube channel.

Neighbors of Raleigh: A series of conversations with the people who call Raleigh home. Explore the city through the people, one story at a time.

3 Oak Podcast: Every week, AJ The Menace, Shane N. Petty and Cherry TNT, based out of Raleigh, get together to talk the latest in music, movies, social media and more.

Just: This podcast is about the people working to build thriving communities rooted in justice. 

The State of Things: WUNC’s The State of Things radio program, delivered as a podcast every day, so you can listen to it whenever you want. 

Tested: Also from WUNC, this podcast is a daily look at how North Carolina is dealing with this public health crisis.

Eye on the Triangle: This podcast by WKNC 88.1 FM (NC State’s student radio station) focuses on public affairs, with news, interviews, opinion, sports, arts, music and more.

Raleigh Raleigh Raleigh: There haven’t been any new episodes for this podcast in a while, but the archives are definitely worth a listen. You’ll meet Raleigh artists, brewery owners, musicians and more.

Domecast: Discussions of state government and politics, from The News & Observer.

How to Commit Journalism: This podcast, from WRAL, pulls back the curtain on what it takes to report the news.

Tech on Tap: The WRAL TechWire podcast covering the latest tech, business and startup news from Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and beyond.

Triangle 411: This podcast, by Mary Insprucker, covers what’s trending, hot topics, medical breakthroughs, entertainment and more.

The Suffragist Project: The Suffragist Project is a limited audio drama series about the suffrage movement in America. Each episode covers different time periods and suffrage leaders in the fight to win the vote for women. Spanning the 70+ years from the first organizing meeting in 1848 in Seneca Falls, NY to the dramatic last minute change of heart vote of one young representative in the Tennessee Legislature, these stories bring the real women and men who fought for and against enfranchisement for women.Th e Suffragist Project is produced by OdysseyStage in association with the Triangle Playwrights. This production is supported by the Orange County Arts Commission and the Manbites Dog Theatre Fund.

True Crime

Criminal: This podcast is not Triangle-focused, but it is created in the Triangle. This is one of the most popular podcasts anywhere. Each episode tells the story of a crime. It’s pretty addictive.

Criminal Conduct Podcast: A true-crime, investigative podcast, hosted by John Taylor and Javier Leiva.

Twisted: A true-crime podcast hosted by John Taylor. You have more than 100 episodes to enjoy. Often two episodes are devoted to one crime story. Recent episodes focused on NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez’ arrest for murder, a discussion of Al Capone, and the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Pretend: A documentary-style true crime podcast about real people pretending to be someone else. The host interviews con artists, snake oil salesmen, undercover FBI agents–pretty much anyone living a lie.

Finance

Financial Symmetry: Practical talk on retirement and personal finance topics from local financial advisors. 

Couple Money: The host talks with financial experts, journalists, as well as real life couples who have done things like paying off six figures of debt, overcoming financial infidelity, starting a business together and retiring early. Get tools and tips that will help you be successful in finances and marriage.

ArtCurious:  Jennifer Dasal, a curator at NC Museum of Art, discusses the unexpected, odd, and sometimes dark side of art history.

Artist Soapbox: Artist Soapbox is a platform for Triangle-area artists to discuss their creative work in their own voices. Durham-based theatre-maker Tamara Kissane chats with artists about their work and their plans.

RDU On Stage: RDU On Stage provides coverage of the theater community in and around Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Its podcast talks with the people who make theater happen, including playwrights, actors, producers and directors.

Raleigh City Sports: This one is for local sports fans. They talk about the Carolina Hurricanes, NC state sports, MLS, and more.

Canes Bull: This podcast is also focused on local sports, specifically the Carolina Hurricanes and the Durham Bulls.

Six Point Weekend Podcast: This podcast for soccer fans. It’s devoted to North Carolina FC and the North Carolina Courage.

Runologie Podcast with Joe Ovies: The Runologie Podcast is for anyone interested in running, from the novice to the elite. Learn about races, run clubs, and anything running related.

Summer of Miles: The Summer of Miles podcast was developed by Sir Walter Miler Race Directors, Pat Price and Sandy Roberts, to give fans more incite into what the Sir Walter Miler is.  They discuss the race, the lead up, interview competitors, and more.

The Whistleblowers: News & Observer sports columnist Luke DeCock and longtime NCAA referee John Clougherty discuss the complex and controversial world of officiating.

They have hugely popular Instagram and YouTube channels, where they post funny videos on the topic of family life. One the podcast they are not doing the funny skits and songs, but are sharing the real ups and downs of living together, working together and raising kids together.

Weddings for Real: If you’re planning a wedding, you’ll appreciate this wedding industry podcast that goes behind the scenes with the industry experts.

The Ox & the Opus: Friends talk about fatherhood, marriage, technology, current events, entertainment in Raleigh.
