
PORCH is an organization that fights hunger. Since its founding in 2010, it has provided more than $6.5 million in hunger relief to residents in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro, North Carolina, community.
PORCH collects food and cash donations and delivers food to pantries for distribution. It distributes both fresh food and non-perishables to approximately 630 families with children in Chapel Hill/Carrboro schools. It also helps to stock healthy snack foods in schools.

PORCH announced on Facebook that they are holding an emergency food distribution on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 12 to to 4 p.m. (or until food runs out) at McDougle Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Enter off Old Fayetteville Road.
This is a drive-thru distribution where you can receive milk, eggs, produce, and pantry staples. It’s for anyone in the community who has need.
The only information they will be collecting is your name and the number of people in your household —they WILL NOT share this information. Police will be on site to direct traffic and WILL NOT be collecting information on people who attend the distribution.
This distribution is being held in collaboration with Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, Orange County, and Orange County Department of Social Services.
