Playmakers Repertory Theatre, the professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has cut Shakespeare’s Macbeth down to an exciting 70 minutes and they’re taking the production on the road.
These free performances are open to the public.
Brilliant young general Macbeth has pulled off a glorious victory in battle, but before he can return to King Duncan’s court, he encounters a most enticing prophecy.
Spurred on by his ambitious wife, Macbeth sets his sights on the throne, but blood will have blood and he soon learns there is no rest for the wicked.
Each of the tour stops is absolutely free to audience members thanks to the Friends of PlayMakers and donations to the annual fund.
