
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, at 11 West Jones Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, is hosting Museum Movie Night on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
The featured movie is Galaxy Quest.
Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for museum members. Space is limited. Purchase tickets.
The event features live music, science stations, food and drink for sale, and the movie, followed by commentary and movie trivia.

Speaker
Dr. Patrick Treuthardt
Patrick is the Assistant Head of the Astronomy & Astrophysics Research Lab at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. His work deals with understanding the evolution of nearby galaxies by studying their different forms and structures.
Music
5:30 to 7 p.m.
Singer/songwriter William Woltz is a North Carolina native who covers a lot of musical territory. He grew up loving both the Beatles and Buck Owens while studying jazz and classical guitar. These days he plays a mix of bluesy originals and interesting cover tunes, always striving for the right blend of old favorites and unexpected treasures. Come prepared to be entertained.
