The Town of Apex is celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Commemoration Weekend from January 17 to 20, 2025.

Black Authors Exhibit
On Friday, January 17, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., the Black Authors Exhibit will be at Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 N Salem Street, Apex, NC.
MLK Unity March and Breakfast Reception
On Saturday, January 18, 2025
- 8:00 am: Gather for March at Apex First Baptist Church (419 S. Salem Street)
- 9:00 am: March begins at Apex First Baptist Church and goes down Salem Street toward Town Hall Campus
- Around 9:30 am: MLK Commemoration Breakfast Reception in the Apex Senior Center (63 Hunter Street) with speakers
Social Justice Sunday
Social Justice Sunday will take place at Apex First Baptist Church, 419 S Salem Street, Apex, North Carolina. Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 11 a.m.
National Day of Service
The National Day of Service is a defining moment each year when people across the country unite in service. During the last 25 years, the MLK Day of Service has inspired people to actively improve communities.
For 2025, the Town of Apex is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to offer two service opportunities on Monday, January 20, 2025. Locations include:
- Garner (3301 Jones Sausage Rd, Garner, NC 27529) from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Knightdale (213 Flowers St, Knightdale, NC 27545) from 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
