Durham County Veteran Services is presenting a Memorial Day Remembrance event on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 9 a.m., at William V. Bell Building (formerly Administration II Building), 201 E Main Street, Durham, North Carolina. It will take place in Conference Room 126.
It’s free and open to everyone.
The program will feature a roll call recognizing the more than 350 known Durham County veterans who died in service to our nation. It will also include the POW/MIA Table Ceremony, paying tribute to military personnel who were taken as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action. The event will close with the laying of a wreath at the County’s war memorials and the playing of “Taps,” the traditional bugle call performed at military memorials and burials.
This Memorial Day event is free and open to the public. Seating will be available, and light refreshments will be served. Parking is available on surrounding streets and in nearby municipal garages.
