Get started learning American Mahjong at a free, beginner-friendly class at The Chapel at Dix Park, 1030 Richardson Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m.
No experience is required, and everything you need will be provided.
Registration opens on August 22, 2026, and is sure to fill up.
In this class you’ll learn the fundamentals, including:
- Tile identification
- The Charleston
- Reading the National Mahjong League card
- Building a hand
- Gameplay basics
- Calling tiles and understanding exposures
- General strategy to get you started
By the end of the lesson, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to sit down and play American Mahjong independently.
