Elaborate light shows and decorations aren’t just for Christmas anymore! A growing number of enthusiasts are decorating their houses for Halloween, both with spooky light shows, projections and other haunted elements.
Read on for a list of “Halloween Houses” that you can visit in the Triangle. Most of these are attractions to enjoy from the street or sidewalk, although there may be some with interactive features.
As Halloween draws closer, we’ll update with what we learn about each of these displays, like the dates they’ll be available, and we’ll add more if we hear about them. If you have a show that should be included, please email info@triangleonthecheap.com and tell us all about it! We’ll add it, as time allows!
Please keep in mind that all of these attractions are at private homes. Please respect their property and the be exceedingly courteous to their neighbors. Don’t block anyone’s driveway or go on anyone’s property. If they have a Facebook page, please follow it, as schedules might change.
Deadford Manor
10839 Bedfordtown Drive, Raleigh, NC

Deadford Manor is a singing skeleton show! It features a gang of animatronic singing skeletons who perform different songs and bits over the course of roughly 15-20 minute shows. Each year so far has featured a new theme and some fun new props.
The show is family friendly and tends to be pretty campy and silly. The show is free, but since the show only happens at certain times, you should check the Facebook page for the latest updates. Opening night is October 10, 2025.

Wood Family Light Shows
6600 Austin Creek Drive, Wake Forest, NC

Wood Family Light Shows presents a show for Halloween and Christmas. The Halloween one is a 45-minute light show that includes music, pyro and fireworks. (Yes, fireworks!) It runs every Friday to Sunday though Halloween, from 7 to 9 p.m. Follow Wood Family Light Shows on Facebook for updates.
Holidays on Boone Street
358 Boone Street, Chapel Hill, NC

Holidays on Boone Street features a haunted yard and a projection show. These homeowners also present a Christmas projection show.
The show is live as of October 2, 2025. Come by 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Edward’s Battle Haunted House
9401 S. Mere Court, Raleigh, NC

Edward’s Battle Haunted House is the project of a Raleigh teen who has battled cancer. Every year since he received his cancer diagnosis he has created a haunted attraction for Halloween.
It’s free to enjoy, but donations are accepted for charities that help kids with cancer.

Dreaded Meadow

This is a walk-thru attraction. The farther back you go, the scarier it gets! The best area for young children will be along the edge of the road and along the driveway.

Halloween House in Oakwood

This house in the Historic Oakwood neighborhood is a destination for trick-or-treaters and Halloween fans from all over Raleigh and beyond. It boasts tons of life-sized Halloween characters and many more decorations.
Skeletons for St. Jude

Skeletons for St. Jude’s a grassroots project where people decorate their yard with massive skeletons for Halloween, and invite guests to make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
