Red Friday: Support Teachers, get a discount on beer
Friday, November 23rd, 2018
12 p.m. until close
Instead of loading up on stuff you’ll regret come spring cleaning, bring some much-needed classroom supplies to Fullsteam the day after Thanksgiving to support our local teachers.
Why red? The Red for Ed movement advocates for improved funding for public education and better wages for teachers. The color represents solidarity, hope, and — well — the fact that many underfunded public schools are literally in the red.
Teachers shouldn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars of their own money to stock their classrooms throughout the school year. They shouldn’t have to pay a dime.
So what can you do to help? Come to Fullsteam on Red Friday. Wear red. Bring classroom supplies to help our teachers — we’ve provided a list of much-needed items below.
If you bring in new supplies, we’ll treat you to a day membership in our Scythe and Sparrow club (20oz pours! 20% off merch and beer to go!)
And since this event is all about honoring our educators, all teachers get the same perk.
We’ve provided a list of supplies below for reference. Even just one eraser can lighten the load. Every donation counts. (Unless it’s broken chalk. Don’t bring that.)
Paper: lined paper, copy paper, construction paper, spiral notebooks, composition books, index cards
Pencils & Pens: blue or black pens, #2 pencils, colored pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, pencil case, colored markers, crayons, highlighters, dry-erase markers
General Supplies: dry-erase boards, paper clips, 3-ring 2″ binders, pocket folders, report covers
Classroom staples: stapler, staples, rulers, protractors, glue sticks, scissors, tape, calculator
Things you can never have too much of: tissues, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer

Bull City Food Swap
Wednesday, November 28th, 2018
7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Love food? Love making food? Love local food culture? Love bartering? LOVE BEER?! Join us Wednesday November 28th at Fullsteam Brewery in Durham, NC.
Come swap homegrown, handmade, or foraged edible delights with like-minded food lovers from the NC Triangle Region.
What: A food swap is part silent auction/part village marketplace/part fun-loving open house where your homemade edible creations (breads, preserves, special concoctions, canned goods, etc.) become your own personal currency for use in swapping with other participants.
Who: We welcome everyone, as long as you bring something edible that YOU made, grew, or foraged yourself.
Tickets/cost: Donations Welcome.
On the day of the swap, please bring your hand crafted goods pre-portioned and packaged and arrive promptly at the start time. The first half-hour of the event is dedicated to swapper sign-in and set-up, and we’ll begin swapping once everyone’s settled in. Also, make sure to bring samples of your goods for others to try, increasing the likelihood of a successful swap!
If you have any questions whatsoever, please send a private message or an email to email@example.com. Thanks, and we’ll see you on the 28th.
