If you need a COVID-19 test and you’re having trouble getting one, here are two ways to get free at-home tests.
U.S. Government Provides Free Tests
Starting January 18th, 2022, every home in the U.S. can order 4 free at-home COVID-19 test kits. You’ll be able to order the tests from covidtests.gov.
If you already ordered your 4 free at-home COVID-29 test kits, as of March 7th, 2022, you can order 4 more. If you haven’t ordered any before, according to the website, you can place 2 orders, for a total of 8 tests.
The tests will be completely free. There won’t be shipping costs and you won’t need to enter a credit card number. No health insurance is required.
You can keep the tests on hand until you have a need for a rapid test.
The limit is 4 tests per household.
The tests are expected to ship within 7 to 12 days of the order date.
