Pepito & The Trash Cans | September 12 at 11 a.m. in the Carolina Theatre
Luke Vandergriff tells a bilingual musical story about a little boy in Bolivia who longs to play music, but scarcity and misfortune stand in the way of his dream. In the end, he and his siblings figure out how to make instruments with bottles, cans, and other repurposed materials. Get tickets today from the Carolina Theatre’s website! They’re $5.
Make a Kazoo from Junk!
Take a crack at turning trash into music yourself! In this hands-on workshop, participants will transform everyday discarded materials, including junk mail and plastic bags, into their very own working kazoos.
We’ll explore how simple materials can be repurposed into musical instruments. No musical experience is necessary; just bring your creativity and your sense of fun!
This playful workshop combines music, making, creativity, and environmental awareness, showing that something we might normally throw away can become something we can play.
