The town of Benson, NC, is holding its annual festival, Benson Mule Days from Thursday, September 24, to Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Schedule:
- Thursday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sunday: 12 to 5 p.m.
Benson is in Johnston County, about a 35 mile drive to the south from Raleigh. It’s convenient to Willow Springs, NC.
This is the 77th year for this festival, which celebrates the mule and its role in rural farming. The festival also include live music, rodeos, a parade, carnival rides, art, vendors, and much more.
Many activities are free, including the parade, live music, trolley rides, stable tours and the downtown vendor area. Admission fees apply to select activities. Events will take place throughout downtown Benson and at Chamber Park Arena.
