Come taste the wines of the Yadkin Valley at the Yadkin Valley Wine Festival on May 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event is the valley’s biggest, showcasing the best wineries in North Carolina wine country. It takes place in Elkin Municipal Park, 399 North Carolina 268 West, Elkin, NC.
Plan on arriving in Elkin the night before to enjoy the music in the Friday Night Live Explore Elkin series – which will be hosted at the Elkin Railyard on May 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Just around a two hour drive from the Triangle, Elkin is the perfect weekend getaway and this is the perfect weekend to do it.
This popular Wine festival combines tastings from area wineries with live music in a family-friendly park setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs for a relaxing day of sampling the latest vintages from many of North Carolina’s premier vineyards.
The day is full of tastings, food trucks, live music, contests, children’s activities and vendor displays, not to mention the annual stomping of the grapes tradition. For safety reasons, please leave pets at home. Wrap up your evening back in Downtown for Live Music on the River Stage on Standard Street – Captain Mike and The Shipwrecked will be playing!
Tickets are $32 in advance and $40 at the gate. Active duty and retired military receive $10 off at the gate with valid ID. Shuttle service to area hotels is available for $5.
A companion event for cycling enthusiasts takes place that morning. Tour de Vino offers five different rides to choose from, with all rides starting at 8 a.m.
