Wake Forest’s first Trung Thu Moon Festival will take place Saturday, September 8th, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wake Forest Renaissance Center, 405 Brooks Street, Wake Forest.

The festival will celebrate the diversity of Wake Forest.
Tet Trung Thu, as it is known in Vietnam, or the Mid-Autumn Moon festival as it’s referred to in America, is customarily held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month and is one of the two most important festivals in the Vietnamese culture. Steeped in tradition, this ancient celebration revolves around children and is thought to be a time when parents had the opportunity to catch up with their loved ones after the busy summer harvest was completed.
Families will enjoy learning about the Vietnamese culture through music, stories, dance, arts and crafts and food.
The event will conclude with a children’s lantern promenade.
