One of three accredited rose gardens in North Carolina, the grounds include sixty rose beds with varieties of hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, miniatures, and antique roses, surrounded by an arboretum of evergreen and deciduous trees.
**Beginning late Fall 2019, the City of Raleigh will initiate stormwater improvements construction in the Rose Garden. During construction, a large section of the Rose Garden will be closed for public use, including the area between the theater building and the Rose Garden, as well as the areas around the fountain and arbor. It is anticipated that other areas of the garden should remain open to the public, including the amphitheater and shelter area. The project will continue into early Spring 2020.
