North Carolina now requires face coverings when in public, in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
If you’re looking for face masks, and for a way to help support local businesses, here are some Triangle-centric masks from Triangle designers, Triangle shops and representing Triangle universities.
Masks are a way of protecting the people around you, in case you’re infected and don’t know it. Now you can show that you care not just for the people you come in contact with, but for the area you live in.
Do you know of other Triangle area businesses or makers that are selling masks? Feel free to leave a comment with your favorite! Maybe we’ll add it to the list, time permitting.
We have no affiliation with any of these mask sellers, and we don’t get a commission if you buy one. We are just sharing masks that we think you might find interesting. However, you may see ads for other masks, interspersed between the ones we’re listing.

Designers:
Clear masks and face shields would be ideal for long-term use… since this seems to be something that we are going to need long-term.
Masks that are cooler and easier to breath through would also be optimal.
Jody Mace says
I agree. Also, I was just talking to a friend who is hearing impaired, who is having trouble since she relies on reading lips. I hope that as time goes on, there are more options.

Buyer beware of the face masks for adults at the Museum of Natural Sciences. The dog paw print mask is larger than the sloth one. They do not list this on their online store.
