If you’re like us and stuck working you’ll still want some eclipse glasses to safely catch the (roughly) 95-percent-eclipse spectacle in the Triangle.
If you have glasses already, check this list of criteria to make sure your choice is NASA-approved.
If you don’t have glasses, most places have sold out already. But there are still options. Here are seven places in the Triangle where you can get them on Monday.
1. Unscripted Durham
Unscripted Durham, which debuted in downtown Durham last month, is holding a solar eclipse viewing party in its rooftop pool area on Monday, August 21st, 2017. You can show up any time, all day. The prime eclipse viewing time will be start around 2:00 p.m.
Unscripted Durham is giving out free solar eclipse viewing glasses at the event. Limited supply, obviously.
There will also be special themed drinks available, such as The Eclipse Unscripted.

2. Duke Gardens
Duke Gardens will be hosting a free drop-in program from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a limited number of free solar eclipse viewing glasses. Inside the Doris Duke Center there will be experiments, crafts, a live stream of the total eclipse, and other activities to explore astronomy and Earth sciences. There will be activities for all ages, from toddler to adult.

3. Campbell University
Campbell University invites the public to a free solar eclipse viewing event at Barker-Lane Stadium from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. At the event, Campbell University Astronomical Society’s main telescope will feed into the stadium’s big screen to show the moon passing in front of the sun from around 1:16 p.m. to 4:06 p.m. with maximum coverage taking place at 2:45 p.m. In addition to streaming the event, the Astronomical Society will distribute NASA-approved eclipse glasses.

4. N.C. State University
The College of Sciences at NC State University is putting on an Eclipse Day Celebration Monday, August 21st, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Brickyard. It’s free to attend.
There will be a limited number of free solar eclipse viewing glasses.
There is paid public parking is available in the Dan Allen Deck and Coliseum Deck, as well as in metered spots on Hillsborough Street.
The celebration will be full of science activities and eclipse-related fun, including:
- Safe ways to view the eclipse, including a telescope with solar filter, free solar glasses and a pinhole camera creation station
- Citizen science activities to monitor changes in weather and animal behavior over the course of the eclipse
- A mini weather tower on-site and real-time streams of solar observations and weather data along the path of totality
- Weather balloon launch with NC State’s Soundings Club
- Physics demonstrations
- Eclipse button giveaway
- Eclipse- and astronomy-themed materials available for checkout from NCSU Libraries
- Resource fair featuring a number of campus organizations
- Entertainment, including games like beanbag toss and Jenga
- Food and water stations, featuring Moon Pies
- Misting tents to keep you cool!
Brickyard, NC State, Raleigh
5. Durham Hotel
The Durham Hotel is hosting a solar eclipse viewing party on the rooftop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There’s no fee for admission. If you purchase a drink you’ll receive a free pair of eclipse viewing glasses.

6. Raleigh Beer Garden
Raleigh Beer Garden is hosting a Solar Eclipse Party on Monday, August 21st, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bob & the Showgram from G105 will be on site. There will be complimentary solar eclipse viewing glasses, while they last. It’ll take place on the event field. It’s free to attend and there will be drink specials.

7. Bond Brothers Beer Company
Bond Brothers Beer Company, 202 East Cedar Street, Cary, is hosting a solar eclipse party on Monday, August 21st, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bond Brothers will give the first 30 guests a pair of eclipse viewing glasses and a Moon Pie. Bulkogi Truck will be on site at 2:00 p.m.

8. Solar Eclipse Party at Ponysaurus
Ponysaurus is opening early, at 12:30 p.m. and will have a special keg release during the eclipse. For $10 you can get a beer and solar eclipse glasses. Supplies limited
