The Tibetan Buddhist Monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery will return to The ArtsCenter in Carrboro to construct a sacred sand mandala to show their compassion and loving kindness for the ongoing support of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro community. The group will construct a mandala over a 5 day period beginning Tuesday, May 15th, 2018, in the Nicholson Art Gallery at the ArtsCenter.
There will be an opening and closing ceremony. In addition, the public is welcome to watch the work in progress as the monks construct the mandala for five days.
There’s no cost to attend the events or to watch the work in progress. Merchandise will be for sale.
