The inaugural Raleigh Roots History Festival will take place Saturday, October 12th, 2019, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Moore Square, 226 East Martin Street, Raleigh.
This free festival is produced by the City of Raleigh’s Historic Resources and Museums program.
It is a celebration of the rich history of the founding and creation of North Carolina’s Capital City, and includes living history, kids’ activities, performances and more.
Some of the activities:
- Loom
- Blacksmith
- Cooking demonstrations
- Revolutionary war encampment
- Kids zone
- Old-fashioned games
- Free carriage rides
- Vendors
Main stage performers will include:
- Tryon Palace Fife & Drum Corps
- Sir Walter Raleigh
- Jonkonnu dancers
- Music by Ken Bloom
Food for purchase will be available from the PIT and Square Burger.
