The Durham Savoyards, Ltd. invites you to a public sing-through of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Patience” on Sunday, November 10th, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the basement of Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris Street, Durham.
At this casual event, the group will sing through all the songs from the show.
All are welcome to sing any, all, or none, of the songs…in whatever octave they choose.
Intermission will feature socializing and cookies.
The Durham Savoyards is a homegrown theatre troupe that has been producing the musical comedies of Gilbert and Sullivan since 1963.
Interested in seeing the full production of Patience? The troupe will be presenting it from March 26th to 29th, 2020, at Carolina Theatre in Durham.
Patience (or Bunthorne’s Bride) was the sixth operatic collaboration (of fourteen) by Gilbert and Sullivan. It was the first theatrical production to be lit entirely by electric light.
