State Farmers Market, 1201 Agriculture Street in Raleigh, includes 30,000 square feet for North Carolina farmers to sell fresh produce.

Monday thru Saturday 5:00am – 6:00pm
Sundays 8:00am – 6:00pm
In addition, there are three restaurants, the Market Grill, Seafood Restaurant and State Farmers Market Restaurant.
The market hosts many events through the year, focusing on the growing season. Here’s what’s coming up.
Watermelon Day
Thursday, July 27th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Come enjoy fresh slices of locally grown watermelon, a visit from the N.C. Watermelon Queen and the opportunity to purchase your own fresh, local watermelon.
The State Farmers Market is looking for the largest watermelon in North Carolina. The winning Watermelon will be on display at the State Farmmers Market Restaurant.
1st Prize: $1,000.00
2nd Prize: $500.00
3rd Prize: $300.00
4th Prize: $200.00
Largest Watermelon Contest Rules:
1) One entry per grower.
2) Entries must be grown in North Carolina and growers must be prepared to identify area where watermelon was grown.
3) No decay or soft spots, trim stem to 3 inches.
4) Winner determined by weight.
5) Weigh in at 12 noon.
6) Entries will be accepted until 11:30 a.m.
7) All entries become property of the State Farmers Market.
