Parktown Food Hub is a community-based partnership aimed at reducing hunger and food insecurity in South Durham. Follow them on Facebook for announcements. Please check their website calendar and Facebook page before heading out, to make sure that there haven’t been any changes.
On their calendar you can find upcoming food distributions, events and volunteer opportunities. Donations are welcome too.
The organization holds open distribution events on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. (or until all items have been distributed.) There might be exceptions, so please make sure to check Parktown Food Hub’s Facebook page.

The distribution events take place at 5124 Revere Road, Durham, North Carolina.
No appointments or documents are needed. Here how it works:
- Line up in the parking lot across the street.
- Do not line up before 3:45 p.m.
- Maximum of two families per car.
- Up to 150 families can be served at each event.
- Numbers will be given to the cars in the parking lot, in the order they enter the line, until all numbers are gone.
- You must present your number in the food pickup area.
- Items might include produce, meat, canned goods and more.
